Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius will have the wire support removed from his right hand on Wednesday as he continues his recovery from the broken bone that robbed him of starting the season. The £4.7 million summer signing from Mainz is due around another three weeks of rehabilitation, but has been light training to stay sharp.
The 23-year-old has worked on his distribution and anticipation, using his left hand to save shots in the roll drills.
Karius has not been able to partake in the catching or punching exercises yet, although his healing process has been on track.
The German sustained the setback during his side’s 1-0 International Champions Cup defeat to Chelsea in July after colliding with team-mate Dejan Lovren during an attempted clearance.
He underwent a successful operation and vowed not to let a "broken hand stop me from chasing my dreams. It's a long season and we have big plans."
